Mohawk Industries has appointed Bill Kilbride as chief sustainability officer. Kilbride, who will continue to serve as president of Mohawk Home, will oversee a sustainability council comprising the presidents of the company’s three business units and support Mohawk’s environmental compliance, conservation, reuse, and recycling. The organization’s green efforts include methods to reduce resource utilization, the promotion of value-added eco-friendly initiatives, and the marketing of additional new products that deliver greater value.
"Bill understands that what is good for the environment is good for our business [and] our customers," says Mohawk COO Chris Wellborn in a statement. "He has driven many improvements in all our soft surface businesses to drive down waste and increase recycling, and we’re looking forward to his continued leadership in this area."
