James Beard Award-winning chef Christina Tosi has launched the first flagship of her iconic Milk Bar beside the Ace Hotel New York. Spread across 5,000 square feet and two floors of a storefront adjacent to the hotel, the flagship is adorned with neon signage, subway tiles and spinning cake displays. Executed by creative director Francesca Wade, the design also promotes exploration and engagement among guests.
Visitors are invited to dine in at a cafeteria-style counter or stop by a minimart equipped with brand merchandise, convenience store snacks, and kits for sleepovers. Nearby a miniature post office is installed where visitors can build and send care packages. A subterranean space accommodates a classroom outfitted with disco balls as well as an R&D test kitchen housed beyond a bar-style half-door.
Milk Bar currently operates 16 locations, including flagships in Los Angeles and Washington, DC.
