Sister City Shines in Manhattan

Sister City has been unveiled as the latest concept in the Ace Hotel Group family on New York’s bustling Lower East Side. The eclectic setting is reflected in a minimalist, modern design from Atelier Ace, the hospitality company’s in-house creative agency.

The interiors reflect the influence of Japanese and Scandinavian architecture principles with simple geometries and a palette of natural materials that evoke tranquility. Each accommodation is equipped with custom fixtures and furnishings along with cherry wood furniture imported from Italy. Dual-purpose foldable desks and built-in bed storage illustrate the functionality of the design as well.

A circular motif across the rooms and corridors is a subtle nod to the universality of its form. Illuminated circular mirrors are installed above terrazzo vanities in bathrooms, while a perforated, rounded metal sconce casts light over each in-room desk. Guestrooms range from the 120-square-foot single configurations to the nearly 200-square-foot terrace option with a queen-sized bed. Sister City also houses bunk configurations, which includes two bunked double beds across 180 square feet.

The all-day eatery Floret is characterized by exposed brick and high-finish Italian terrazzo accented by lush greenery. Eleven floors up, the Sister City rooftop bar embraces a backdrop of panoramic city views as well.
