This Friday, social wellness brand Othership will bring its signature blend of ritual, design, and social connection to Williamsburg with the opening of its first Brooklyn outpost.
The 6,500-square-foot location follows the 2024 debut of Othership Flatiron and signals the brand’s continued expansion across New York. A third, larger location is scheduled to debut on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in 2027.
A look inside Othership Williamsburg
Designed in collaboration with Futurestudio, led by founding principal Ali McQuaid Mitchell, the interiors draw from the natural world to create an elemental, sensorial environment. Custom artworks by Charlotte Blake, Studio La Beaute, and Othership cofounder Harrison Taylor layer visual storytelling into the experience.
At the core of the new Williamsburg location is a 100-person cedar-lined sauna (20 percent larger than the Flatiron location’s) that is anchored by two sunken communal cold plunge pools designed for shared immersion. A stadium-style Commons lounge serves as the social hub, complete with a hidden DJ booth seamlessly integrated into the seating.
Lighting and sound elevate the journey: a 10-foot glowing orb hovers overhead, candlelit ripple sconces provide warmth, and custom river rock tiles add texture underfoot.
“Williamsburg builds on everything we’ve learned about how people want to feel and connect,” says Robbie Bent, cofounder and CEO of Othership. “It’s our most communal space to date. From the communal design changes to new programming based on connection, the intention was to create something genuinely transformational for people who are looking for more from their social experiences.”
The forthcoming Othership Upper East Side
Looking ahead, Othership will grow its footprint with a 13,500-square-foot Upper East Side location in 2027.
A modern reinterpretation of the traditional bathhouse, the space will feature a 3,000-square-foot bathing wing with a neutral-temperature pool, communal cold plunge, hot tub, ritual sauna, steam room, and dunk showers. The outpost will also introduce new social rituals, including group venik, scrubs, and guided practices designed to foster emotional connection.
