Palmaïa – the House of AïA has debuted as a new wellness-oriented resort in Mexico’s Riviera Maya. Following its initial launch in January 2020, the resort closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and has now re-emerged with an even greater emphasis on sustainability and meaningful travel.
Conceived by Alex Ferri, the former CEO of Sandos Hotels & Resorts, Palmaïa’s design is bonded to the natural splendor of its setting. The Mediterranean-style beach club Eolo serves as a key social hub after dark, with a bohemian atmosphere enhanced by oceanfront views. Each of the six F&B venues—including Mexican eatery LEK, Mediterranean option Mar de Olivo, and Asian-Fusion concept Ume—feature 100 percent plant-based menus, with animal protein add-ons. The outdoor Atlantis Spa immerses visitors in the serenity of the jungle and offers treatments that aid emotions, not just physical ailments.
As part of its reopening plan, occupancy will be reduced across the property to support social distancing. Guests will be booked with ample distance from other travelers across a total of seven buildings. More information about Palmaïa’s healthy and safety program can be found here.
