Artek and Maharam will come together to introduce the Maharam Edition Artek Stool 60, a collection pairing twenty Maharam textiles with the iconic stool designed by Alvar Aalto in 1933. Maharam’s range of color, pattern, texture, and natural materials of cotton, leather, mohair, and wool come to life on one of the most elemental and versatile pieces of furniture, Aalto’s three-legged wooden stool. Birch finishes of honey, walnut, and clear lacquer were chosen in combination with textiles highlighting the breadth of Maharam’s textile offering including those designed by the Maharam Design Studio, Hella Jongerius, Konstantin Grcic, Paul Smith, Sander Lak, Studio Job, and Scholten & Baijings, as well as archival reissues by Alexander Girard and Josef Hoffman.
