The Sundays, Hamilton Island, Australia
Privately owned Hamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef will welcome its newest hotel in April. Situated in a former 1980s lodge, the Sundays is a sustainably driven property by Australian designer Carrie Williams revolving around a restaurant from Sydney culinary duo Josh and Julie Niland that spotlights ingredients from the Whitsunday Islands. The lobby, with its Sophia Quartzite reception desk, will lead to the 59 guestrooms outfitted with private balconies or terraces overlooking the Coral Sea, each one showcasing an original acrylic or canvas artwork by First Nations/Hungarian artist Tiarna Herczeg.
