What we’re looking forward to: Designed as a sister property to Sparrow Lodge in Palm Springs, Herons Lodge joins California’s Common Thread Hotels collection. In the 35 guestrooms, some sporting fireplaces, bespoke furniture mingles with Brazilian and Japanese tiles. Equal parts nostalgic and contemporary, it encourages socializing in the lobby’s indoor/outdoor bar and beside the landscaped courtyard’s firepits and water features.
