andBeyond Punakha River Lodge, Bhutan

Located on the banks of the Mo Chu River in the Punakha Valley, the lodge—andBeyond’s first in Asia—offers spectacular views of the Himalayas. Six tented suites, which join two villas, are suspended from a traditional Bhutanese timber structure. The blue poppy, the country’s national flower, appears as a motif throughout, while upholstery, linen detailing, and blankets are made from handwoven Bhutanese wool, bringing another touch of color and bolstering the property’s genuine sense of place.
