Wellness is the next frontier, and many are taking notice: In fact, according to a Global Wellness Institute report, the wellness tourism industry is expected to be worth more than $800 billion by 2020. For instance, Equinox is entering the hotel space (and making its gyms more lifestyle focused); brands like Six Senses are redefining what integrated wellness means in hospitality; Hilton launched an in-room wellness concept; travel companies are promoting fitcations; sports complexes are looking to design to attract new members; and even corporations are making health a priority for employees.
