Part furniture showroom, part eatery, Tom Dixon’s Manzoni showroom is an immersive experience where diners can shop for everything straight from, and down to, the tabletop. Similar to Dixon’s headquarters in King’s Cross in London, the Milan-based location is more than a showroom—it is “a place where people can slow down and experience our products in a live setting,” he says. Crafted by Dixon’s London-based Design Research Studio, the theatrical 100-seat space shows off the designer’s latest collections, as well as some of his best-selling pieces, offering “guests an opportunity to interact and engage with the product before purchasing,” he says. Backed by a lava stone-tiled back bar, the monolithic granite bar guides guests to the entrance, one of the space’s three areas. A monochrome material palette with smoky hues and mint green and brown tiles define the narrow, L-shaped dining area, while six wall-strung vitrines display Dixon’s glass and tableware as works of art. The small private courtyard outside conjures a lush jungle oasis with a Primavera marble table as the centerpiece, doubling as the main product display area. “People dine at a restaurant all the time,” says Dixon, “so it seemed like an opportune time to have our products integrated into our guests’ lifestyle.”
