Accor has unveiled Planet 21, its new sustainability initiative. The program has 21 goals, including:
- Employees trained in disease prevention in 95 percent of hotels
- 80 percent of properties promoting balanced meals
- 85 percent of hotels using eco-labeled products
- 15 percent reduction in water consumption
- 10 percent decrease in energy use at Accor’s owned and leased hotels worldwide
- Reforestation efforts (Accor already has planted 2 million trees)
- Promotion of customer engagement in sustainability efforts
