New York-based studio Champalimaud Design has announced the appointment of Courtney Brannan and Jun Chun to principals.
For more than a decade at Champalimaud, Brannan has lent her keen expertise to hospitality projects including the St. Regis, Jakarta; the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman; and the Hotel Bel-Air. She cites the Beverly Hills Hotel, where she oversaw the chic design of the hotel’s 23 bungalows, as her favorite project. “My style is full of personality,” Brannan says. “I love to weave history and locale into an authentic story that feels fun, artistic, and contemporary.”
Chun specializes in a luxury lifestyle vernacular that has characterized projects from large-scale properties for Halekulani Hotels to a London townhouse in Notting Hill. Recent endeavors, including the Conrad Nashville, further reflect Chun’s eclectic background in art and the inspiration he draws from travel. “My style is clean and well-balanced,” he says. “For every project, I consider the space as a series of rituals, not only decorative objects, while I translate intangible ideas into tangible elements.”
