The multisensory experience AYA has joined the restaurant and bar lineup at the Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills.
The brainchild of designers Igal and Vanessa Benhamou, AYA reflects the unmistakable verve of Los Angeles while also embodying the worldliness of the couple behind it. “AYA was created to celebrate the cultures that my wife Vanessa and I encountered and immersed ourselves in during our travels throughout the Mediterranean, specifically Northern Africa and the Middle East,” Igal Benhamou says. “When guests walk through our doors, we want them to feel as though they are on a sensory journey that evokes the essence of these regions.”
Middle Eastern architectural motifs abound along with the colors and textures of North African streets, which all complement the spiced aromas that permeate the lounge as well. Handcrafted wooden décor—from chairs and tables to the striking ceiling—also imbue AYA with a natural rawness. To further invoke nature, greenery, including a living wall behind the marble bar and copper posts wrapped in aloe, serves as a softening focal point.
