Tel Aviv cocktail concept Bellboy has launched its first international outpost in Berlin’s Mitte district. London-based interiors studio Saar Zafrir Design infused the 200-seat space with a sumptuous-yet-classic aesthetic that reflects the brand with a localized twist.
“When guests step into Bellboy, we want them to feel like they’ve entered a fantastical new world in a totally different era. Each room is filled with surprises and are connected through secret doors, which delivers an exploratory experience,” Saar Zafrir says. “The essence of the Bellboy brand revolves around eclecticism, so this very much reflects the design aesthetic.”
An eccentric and opulent complement to Berlin’s nightlife scene, Bellboy Berlin comprises three lounge spaces, including an intimate speakeasy dubbed Butler that features only a small handful of stools. Throughout the venue, elaborate chandeliers gently illuminate parquet floors and plush velvet seating in forest green, crimson, and rose hues. Leather-backed barstools line marble-topped bars clad with metal tiles, while cozy lamp-lit booths anchor the corners of each room. Wallpaper also serves as a key focal point of the design, adorned with intricate patterns that heighten the ornate ambiance.
