Architecture and design firm the Martin Group worked alongside Boston-based Shawmut Design and Construction to bring Camper restaurant to Silicon Valley’s Menlo Park area. Spread across more than 4,000 square feet, the minimalist eatery is conceived as a hub for seasonal cuisine spearheaded by a slew of chefs including Greg Kuzia-Carmel, Roland Passot, and Logan Levant.
The project involved the overhaul of an existing restaurant space in the city. Interior finishes were reimagined, while original flooring was replaced with oak to line the dining room and entry corridor. A demo kitchen features a glass partition door and exterior vestibule that doubles as a service entrance. Pairing industrial and natural aesthetics, exposed ceiling beams, finished plywood, and oak millwork juxtapose raw metal and handmade blue Heath tiles.
