André Fu Studio has revealed the design of Fiamma, the latest addition to the F&B lineup at Capella Singapore. Named for the Italian word for “flame,” the 138-seat Mediterranean restaurant was designed to reflect the aesthetic and emotional allure of the property, complete with expansive views of the hotel’s triple-tiered swimming pools, thick foliage, and the South China Sea.
“Fiamma is Capella Singapore’s living room and dining room,” André Fu says. “I want people to think of it as a place to just hang out all day. Much like you might do in a luxurious retreat in the Mediterranean in the summer. It’s a place that’s not overly casual, nor overly rigid. Where you can dine on wonderful, fresh food in a casual, relaxed setting, and wander off, in the middle of your seafood, out into the sunshine and into the pool.”
The layered experience unfolds across six rooms—including a lush alfresco lounge and a semi-private den anchored by a bespoke decanter table—that create a residential-inspired layout. Restrained, earthy hues, like burnt orange and dusty aubergine, amplify the texture of the material palette, which includes washed oak, chiseled stone, wrought iron metal, and soft linen curtains.
A wood fire pizza oven serves as the focal point of the theatrical restaurant’s oven chamber, while the dining room—illuminated by custom bronze-cast chandeliers—is anchored by a glassed-off kitchen. A 16-person private dining room is also featured and outfitted with timber rafters, a lush wall tapestry, and midcentury-style wall lamps. Each space overlooks the property’s 100-foot-long terrace lined with hardwood furniture beneath an orange and beige awning that accentuates Fiamma’s sinewy lines.
