Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (CMR) has opened its 11th U.S. Ocean Prime location in Midtown Manhattan, the brand’s first New York outpost.
“We are both humbled and excited to bring Ocean Prime to New York,” says CMR founder and CEO Cameron Mitchell. “We have opened Ocean Prime successfully in 10 markets across the country, but New York cannot be beaten in terms of diversity and discernment.”
Designed by locally based ICRAVE, the modern American supper club features a timeless aesthetic rooted in warm woods, raw materials, and polished details. The soaring, 275-seat dining space spans 7,400 square feet and features a 2,500-square-foot mezzanine, multiple private dining rooms, and a 50-seat al fresco terrace.
Patrons enter upon a dimly lit bar and lounge area—punctuated by plush booths, a marble-clad bar, and coffered panels that resemble a waffle concrete slab—that is divided from the main dining space by a sleek wood screen. Within the main space, inward facing nooks create an intimate dining experience amongst glowing wine walls and a staircase that leads to the mezzanine level. Herringbone wood, plaster, and fabric-wrapped columns add visual interest, while locally inspired custom art adorns the walls.
