A cozy yet classical vibe permeates Penelope, an inviting new eatery in Helsinki that evokes the warmth of a longstanding institution. The design from locally based Fyra emits a comforting energy through the use of materials distinguished by a lived-in appearance.
Red terracotta tiles span the floors, while classic marble adorns the restaurant’s bar. Red tones also dress the exposed ceilings and pipes above the rustic wood tables that populate the dining room. Vintage seating and even small sofas complement the cozy, residential-style ambiance. Kitchen tools and machines, including a steel Berkel are on display to amplify this theme as well.
