Tribute Hospitality Group has launched American-influenced restaurant, Church Street Tavern, and its downstairs speakeasy and lounge, Bandit’s Roost, in New York.
Located in Tribeca, Church Street Tavern takes guests back to an old New York ambiance with vintage décor, a classic American menu with a modern twist, and a vibrant raw bar. Downstairs in the Bandit’s Roost lounge, guests will feel like they’ve stepped into the Jacob Riis’ 1888 photograph of the same name depicting a mobster-filled alley on Mulberry Street.
The restaurant is designed to feel like the city in the early 1900s. The space has a wall of exposed brick, black subway tiling that lines the adjacent wall, bronze finishes, antique mirrors, a concrete painted ceiling, and exposed piping painted in brass. Church Street Tavern accommodates 70 people seated with options ranging from long black tufted leather banquettes, various tables, and hightops near the bar.
Meanwhile, the lounge depicts the era with a mirrored hallway and ceiling at its entrance. Inside, black and white tiled floors and red felt wallpaper showcase the large photographs from the time period.
