Housed inside the Kimpton La Peer Hotel in West Hollywood, from local firm Gulla Jónsdóttir, the Viale de Romani restaurant has debuted with a design from New York-based studio Parts and Labor Design, which evokes the daytime luxury of Hollywood. A Mediterranean ambiance permeates the upscale space to mirror the restaurant’s Positano culinary roots.
A custom host stand crafted from a mosaic of mirror and wood welcomes visitors alongside lush hanging ferns, while the adjacent bar is appointed with prismatic shelving and brass detailing reminiscent of Art Deco jewelry. The bar face is clad with boldly veined Crystal Stratus Danby Marble, and is accented by inviting, custom barstools.
In addition to a variety of vintage and modern-inspired café seating, a cozy, oversized yellow velvet upholstered banquette anchors the dining room, complementing the gold-painted ceilings overhead. Mediterranean blue tiles provide the backdrop for the open kitchen, while vertical wooden louvers divide the intimate lounge area from the colorful concrete pavers and lush planting of the large outdoor patio. The private lounge is also appointed with a teak overhead trellis and a casual, semi-informal layout.
