Hilton Worldwide has appointed Tom Potter as its new senior vice president for the Caribbean and Latin America.
Potter has a 35-year history with Hilton and will be responsible for the brand’s existing regional properties and aiding in development and expansion throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. His growth strategy involves working with the region’s human resources to develop programs to cultivate and motivate new employee talent in his area of operation.
“Expanding our footprint in Latin America is one of our top priorities, and I am committed to working closely with our development partners to keep this momentum going strong,” says Potter. “This growth, combined with leading innovations and best in class talent, will help keep Hilton at the forefront of the industry.”
Most recently the area vice president for Central and South America, Potter was responsible for expanding the company’s Latin American presence. He previously acted as the general manager of the Hilton São Paulo Morumbi from 2002 to 2006.
Before joining Hilton in 1979, Potter worked in F&B operations. He earned his bachelors degree in hotel management from England’s Bournemouth University in 1978.
