Valor Hospitality Partners has announced plans to launch 106 Jefferson, a 115-room boutique hotel in downtown Huntsville, Alabama, this summer. Rooted in the history of the local community, the former Huntsville Hotel will be revamped as a Curio Collection by Hilton property that harkens back to the past via a design by Looney & Associates that references Huntsville’s ties to the Space Race, the Victorian Era, and more.
“Like Huntsville, 106 Jefferson is a classic with irreverent detailing,” says Looney & Associates project architect Omar Garcia. “What stands out is a nostalgic feeling of the space era, combined with a contemporary vibe that makes you want to hang out in this very approachable and fun hotel.”
The upscale design scheme will be punctuated by thoughtful details throughout the property. A trio of floating columns serve as a key focal point that bridges retro and contemporary sensibilities and contextualizes scale. The onsite eatery, Revivalist, will pay homage to the site’s legacy with clever décor that recalls an old-fashioned parlor, while indoor-outdoor rooftop lounge Baker & Able will promote community against a panoramic backdrop. More than 2,000 square feet of meeting and event space will also be housed onsite.
