New York-based firm Glen & Company Architecture (Glen & Co.) has been chosen for a $5 million renovation of the historic Ames Boston Hotel. Originally debuting in 1893, the 115-room hotel will be revamped to honor its history and unmatched location in the heart of Boston. The property was recently acquired by real estate investment and development firm Gencom as a result of its partnership with Gemstone Hotels and Resorts.
“We look forward to bringing back the charm and history of the Ames Company through our design,” says Glen Coben, founder and owner of Glen & Co. The firm’s recent work includes the Hotel Archer New York , James Beard Award-winning eatery Bâtard, and Gabriel Kreuther.
