The spa at the Beverly Hills Hotel has reopened following a seven-month refurbishment led by New York-based studio Champalimaud Design. The new design evokes serenity while maintaining the iconic hotel’s signature playful and chic sensibility.
“The fresh and stylishly elegant new spa at the Beverly Hills Hotel has brought a new, youthful, and cheeky personality to the overall hotel experience,” says Alexandra Champalimaud, founder and president of the firm. “It has been a joy to develop this calming new gem for the hotel and its loyal clientele.”
Notable changes include the relocation of the reception, as well as an increased prominence of the retail portion of the spa. The facility has also added a relaxation room and a nail suite, which join four existing treatment rooms featuring tables equipped with warming heaters. Each of the spacious treatment rooms are clad with custom wallcoverings that depict California’s native flora and fauna. This theme also echoes through the reception area, nail studio, and relaxation lounge—where banana leaf-patterned wallcoverings and a deep blue palette inspired by the Lapis Lazuli stone punctuate the atmosphere. Subtle notes of cream and a gold brick pattern also adorn transitional spaces alongside striking carpeting.
