When Borgo Santandrea opened last year on the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, it was the first new luxury hotel to grace the scenic area in 15 years. The property, located 296 feet above sea level, includes a private beach and beach club, a jetty, an oceanfront pool, a wellness center, three fine dining restaurants, and two terrace bars.
Recently, the hotel unveiled four new suites, including the 743-square-foot Corner Suite. The room boasts a private patio adorned with riad-style arches that offers sweeping views of the ocean and coastline. It also features handcrafted tiled flooring, inspired by the floor of the Royal Chapel of the Treasure of St. Januarius in Naples—a masterpiece of Baroque art and architecture. The blue and white geometric ceramic pattern adds a bold, colorful touch.
The furnishings blend contemporary elements with a nod to the region’s heritage. Vintage ceiling fans and midcentury modern wall sconces create a sense of timelessness. The new accommodation is also furnished with a unique teak wood wall bookcase, as well as a Gio Ponti armchair that carries both form and function.
The 527-square-foot Deluxe Suite, complete with an outdoor terrace and garden, also offers vistas of the sea. The suite defines coastal luxury with a private living area, bespoke Italian furniture, and a marble bathroom.
The remaining two new suites include one built into the cliffside with a private spiral staircase entrance, while the other features a large, 1,087-square-foot private terrace.
