The InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta has emerged from its first renovation since opening in 2004. Led by KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group, the refresh enlivens the property’s public spaces with a luxe, modern sensibility. Pillars of the Georgia city also informed the design concept, including “the state symbols of the peach, honeybee, and Cherokee rose,” says KTGY principal Lisa Simeone. “Mixing classic hotel design with a feminine appeal creates an all-inclusive experience for guests.”
Reminiscent of a classic manor house, the hotel’s stately architecture is accented by refreshing white hues and floral motifs across upholstery in the lobby. Pink and red tones welcome guests, while burnt orange and brandy shades allude to the state fruit. Gray and walnut wood accents also line the sunny communal area.
Ebony floors and green tones distinguish the Club Lounge, which is appointed with its own variety of verdurous garden shapes. Light gray walls wrap the ballroom along with a custom carpet inspired by the flight of the honeybee. Subtle notes of purple abound to offset the room’s neutral palette as well.
To tie the interior together, guestrooms are animated by floral artworks that echo the large mural of garden roses found in the lobby. Warm taupe and jeweled emerald shades also make an elegant impression in each accommodation. “This redesign welcomes a new era of guests without excluding those who know and love the property,” Simeone adds. “The future of the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta will be one that leans on a mix of femininity, modernity, and a familiar Southern feel, and allows guests from all walks of life to feel comfortable, welcomed, and inspired during their stay.”
