The Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese has been reborn at the hand of French architect Jean-Phillipe Nuel. The artful redesign of the former 19th century Roman palazzo property takes its inspiration from the lush greenery of nature.
Representing French classicism, the white walls at the lobby are balanced with multi-colored marble floors. Contemporary furniture and millwork add a contemporary touch to the space, while original moldings and pilasters are carefully preserved. The chandelier above the reception desk dramatically illuminates the glass-and-mirror-enclosed lobby bar, which doubles as a sculptural piece. Mosaic tile work crowns the property with patterns of botanical leaves, serving as an extension of the green foliage that climbs the white walls of the façade.
Each of the 78 guestrooms and suites are adorned with blue-toned ceilings, and accented by wood flooring, brass details, and Italian marble. The rooftop F&B spot is lined with terrazzo floors featuring floral imagery, and polychromatic marble fragments. The green color palette and upholstery further amplify the garden aesthetic, while an open wall composed of marble frames views of the kitchen.
