Construction has kicked off in San Francisco on the Marriott SOMA Mission Bay Hotel, the city’s first full-service new-build hotel in a decade. Designed by locally based architecture firm Hornberger + Worstell, the 250-room hotel is slated to debut in 2020.
Situated at the corner of Channel and Third Streets, the property will provide access to medical centers, AT&T Park, the forthcoming Chase Center complex—the future home of the Golden State Warriors. The SUMA Mission Bay will reflect the spirit of the neighborhood, activating its surroundings with a community-facing living room, marketplace café, public garden, large event spaces, and a rooftop lounge. Local artwork will also be appointed inside and out for an immersive San Francisco experience.
