Meliá Hotels International has announced that all 10 of its properties across Mexico and the Dominican Republic will now offer free onsite COVID-19 antigen tests for all guests who are required to present documented results prior to reentering their country of residence. Upon check-in, antigen tests can be scheduled for those staying a minimum of three nights, and same-day results will also be available.
“This is a critical step in the return to normal for the travel industry,” says Meliá COO André P. Gerondeau. “Guest health and safety remain our top priority and we want to ensure we make this an easy and seamless process for our guests, offering them peace of mind and confidence in their Meliá vacation experience.”
The brand also announced the free Travel Safe with Meliá insurance policy with all reservations. The policy includes extensive medical coverage and assistance for guests in light of any unexpected health event, including COVID-19, for up to 15 days. Participating hotels and resorts include Meliá Cozumel, Meliá Puerto Vallarta, Meliá Caribe Beach Resort, Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort, ME Cabo, Paradisus Playa del Carmen, Paradisus Cancun, Paradisus Los Cabos, and the Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real.
