Nobu Hospitality introduces its first hotel in the Midwest with the first-phase, preview opening of the Nobu Hotel Chicago in the city’s West Loop. Designed by locally based firms Modif Architecture and Studio K, the property evokes an intimate, luxurious feel that blends effortlessly with the lifestyle brand’s Japanese-inspired aesthetic and the urban flair of the Windy City.
Paying homage to the weathered beauty of Japan’s oldest structures, varied layers of natural materials are left untouched in order to create striking focal points in the hotel’s tranquil public spaces. In addition to a signature Nobu restaurant and bar on the ground floor, the Rooftop at Nobu serves as an alternative F&B option set against panoramic views of Chicago. Additional amenities include flexible meeting and event spaces, a fitness center, and an indoor swimming pool.
Each of the 115 guestrooms and suites were crafted by Studio K with a sophisticated warmth punctuated by sisal and wool rugs, mango wood millwork, and indigo accents. Custom contemporary artworks by Dutch artist Noor van Spaendonck inject color into the understated spaces as well.
Nobu Hotel Chicago is set to open July 1st, and the restaurant and bar will debut shortly after.
