Renderings have been revealed for the Bedford Hotel, a proposed property in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Spanning five stories and 100 keys, the hotel will draw its name from its location on 1550 Bedford Avenue near a variety of borough attractions.
Locally based architecture firm ODA has conceived the design to mirror the masonry style of its surrounding residential structures. Spanning 38,000 square feet, the hotel will be clad with dark stone to complement the neighboring brownstones and rowhouses. Anchoring the space is a central public plaza that is open to the public and passersby thanks to archways that wrap the base of the building. A palette of light wood will characterize the interior, which will also host a banquet hall, retail, and dining.
