Omni Hotels & Resorts has broken ground on its first luxury resort in Mexico: Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita.
A design team—comprising Robert Glazier, HKS, Farouki Farouki, Girvin Associates, Waldrop + Nichols, and more—has been assembled the bring the property to life.
Inspired by the local landscape and culture, the resort’s design concept will blend clean architectural lines with natural materials like stone, wood, and metal to evoke the feel of a modern beachfront home.
The beachfront destination will feature 244 guestrooms and suites as well as two 4-bedroom villas offering sweeping views of the Bay of Banderas.
Amenities will include three restaurant concepts, a spa with 14 treatment rooms, two retail shops, multiple pools (including adult-only and family-friendly options), a fitness center, and a kids club. Omni Pontoque will also house more than 27,000 square feet of meeting space.
“As our first property in Mexico, the development of Omni Pontoque marks an especially exciting milestone in our company’s history,” says Kurt Alexander, president of Omni Hotels & Resorts. “We believe that the joy of travel is rooted in an authentic connection to a place, and we’re excited to celebrate Mexico’s rich culture with our guests, introducing them to unique experiences never before offered at an Omni.”
The Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita is slated to open in late 2026.
