Flyfish Club, a new venue from hospitality company VCR Group, is now open on New York’s Lower East Side.
Spanning three levels and more than 11,000 square feet, Flyfish Club is a members-only club that includes a restaurant, bar, lounge, omakase counter, and more.
Crafted by locally based Garrett Singer Design, the interior design transport guests into a sophisticated, under-the-sea-inspired setting that “comes together in one dynamic, theatrical, and transportive way,” says Garrett Singer, founder of his eponymous firm.
The entryway is marked by a custom wave-patterned floor beneath a glowing, rippled metal ceiling that “evokes the feeling of being under the water’s surface and seeing the sun glimmer on the ocean floor below,” Singer explains.
The main dining room exudes luxury, featuring coral and peach tones, rose gold accents, and a striking onyx-topped bar veined with rainbow hues. Above the bar, a Murano glass chandelier glistens like abalone shells, while handmade silk anemone lights add a sensual ambiance.
Flyfish Club also features the Cattail Room, a luxe speakeasy that departs from the underwater theme with deep green walls, plush velvet seating, and a glowing bar reminiscent of a glamorous jazz lounge.
Available to select members, a private omakase counter curated by sushi masters Masa Ito and Kevin Kim awaits behind a hidden door, complete with an acoustic sound wall to enhance the intimate dining experience.
“We didn’t need Flyfish to feel the same everywhere,” Singer notes. “We wanted there to be unexpected and breathtaking moments as a guest proceeds through the space. Just when you think you have seen it all, there is something even more impressive around the corner.”
