Regent Santa Monica Beach is set to debut on the California coastline this summer, just steps from the iconic Santa Monica Pier. This marks the first location in the Americas for the reimagined Regent Hotels & Resorts brand, which is part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio.
Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the resort will feature 143 guestrooms and 24 suites, a beachfront pool deck, a sprawling 10,000-square-foot wellness spa by Guerlain, multiple culinary destinations, and beach butler service.
Designing the Regent Santa Monica Beach
Wimberly Interiors is leading the design of the accommodations, event spaces, pool area, and spa. Sea views inspire the overall resort aesthetic, balancing serenity with decadence to achieve harmony through contrasts. Taking cues from a leisurely Mediterranean lifestyle, the team brought together furnishings and fixtures that maintain a relaxed coastal style punctuated by rich, bold colors and patterns.
Meanwhile, AvroKO is envisioning the bright, airy lobby and restaurant, which draws from a range of inspirations—including the luxury fashion world, an artisanal shell collector, and a Mediterranean voyage.
Dining options at Regent’s new California outpost
Guests can indulge in epicurean experiences at Orla, a new concept in partnership with chef Michael Mina. The resort is also partnering with Ayesha Curry and her burgeoning lifestyle brand, Sweet July. Resort guests and visitors will have access to its curated retail experience, which will offer bespoke products produced by Black-owned and women-owned brands, as well as a menu inspired by Curry’s Jamaican roots.
The $150 million-plus project is a partnership between ownership group Strategic Hotels & Resorts, which has owned the property for more than 20 years, and Regent Hotels & Resorts.
The launch of Regent Santa Monica Beach will follow closely behind the openings of Regent Hong Kong and Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel.
