Architect Soo K. Chan of Singapore-based firm SCDA Architects has relaunched his beachfront resort concept Soori Bali as the first project under his new lifestyle brand Soori.
Located in Bali’s Tabanan Regency between a volcanic sand beach and rice fields, the environmentally and culturally sustainable resort exudes tranquility with a contemporary Balinese design, polished teak, and locally crafted terracotta tiling.
Soori Bali comprises 48 private pool villas and residences, and will soon expand with the opening of the 56,510-square-foot, 10-room Soori Estate later this year. The estate will boast its own infinity pool, gym, spa, kitchen, and a cantilevered platform branching out above the Indian Ocean. The sprawling resort also includes an infinity pool, gym, library, spa, helipad, and two gourmet restaurants.
Certified by EarthCheck (the scientific benchmarking, certification, and advisory group for travel and tourism), the property merges indoor-outdoor environments and features a minimal carbon footprint thanks to energy consumption, water conservation, and waste-management measures. An abundance of pools and courtyards ensure a variety of open spaces along with natural light and cross-ventilation.
Soori is set to launch the Soori High Line in New York’s West Chelsea neighborhood and the Soori Niseko ski resort in Japan.
