Featuring designs from Dallas-based Waldrop+Nichols Studio, the Omni Louisville will arrive in spring 2018, blending the Southern city’s culture and heritage for a sense of place.
“Louisville’s iconic landmarks and distinctive multifaceted lifestyles provide the framework and foundation for the interior architecture layered with contrast and color,” says Reggi Nichols, president and founding partner of Waldrop+Nichols Studio.
Refined industrialism will permeate the interior with light and dark millwork finishes in materials, including limestone, polished leather, rock crystal, and iron trusses. Neon pendants will descend from the ceiling to greet guests, and stone and iron finishes pave the way toward gallery halls equipped with cage pendants that honor the city’s bourbon history. The copper and ice palette is infused with amber tones, while the 612 guestrooms blend wood hues, classic details, and mixed materials.
The Mokara Spa Louisville pays homage to Louisville waterways, the Ohio Falls, and the Louisville Water Tower. Cast upon sculpted limestone, the shimmering combination of rushing water and light will deliver a sensory experience in aquamarine and silver hues.
Onsite eatery Bob’s Steak & Chop House will celebrate thoroughbred racing, with colorful textiles inspired by silk jockey uniforms along with leather, bronze, and wood. In addition, the three-meal restaurant explores the relationship between old and new, juxtaposing reclaimed wood and bricks from Louisville’s original Morrisey’s Garage with playfully arranged mosaic tiles and ironwork. A hidden hotel bar will recall speakeasies of the Prohibition Era.
Pre-function and event spaces include a bourbon-inspired sculpture that undulates overhead while watery hues herald city’s waterscapes. Copper elements and grand, circular pendants will be featured in the ballroom as well.
