Pacifica Hotels has launched its second Wayfarer outpost in Los Angeles’s historic Broadway Corridor. The Wayfarer Downtown LA occupies the site of the former Ritz Milner Hotel, and was transformed into the new boutique concept by local architecture firm Rockefeller Kempel Architects and Chicago-based design studio The Gettys Group.
A carefully curated selection of artwork infuses the property with a diverse range of textures and narratives, while a custom library installation, showcasing a range of literature set in Los Angeles or written by Angelenos, establishes a strong sense of community in the lobby.
Included among the hotel’s collaborative public settings are four F&B concepts. The Kitchen—a communal space where guests can cook and dine—anchors the ground floor, while the nearby Gaslighter social club doubles as a café and happy hour venue.
The basement parlor has been reimagined into Lilly Rose, a lively, cocktail-centric hideaway open in the evening. And 12 stories up, the open-air Rooftop bar/restaurant offers a fusion of Asian and Latin cuisines, and even features a mini plunge pool.
Each of the 146 private guestrooms and suites are equipped with standing workstations and luxe bathrooms. Groups or social solo travelers can also opt for one of the Wayfarer DTLA’s 10 shared rooms, which feature two bunk beds.
