The 2011 Jury of Fellows from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) elevated RTKL‘s Nathan Cherry FAIA, AICP, LEED AP; Rod Henderer FAIA, LEED AP; and David V. Thompson FAIA, BSCP, LEED AP to its prestigious college of fellows, an honor awarded to members who have made significant contributions to the profession.
Cherry is a vice president who works out of RTKL’s Los Angeles office and the director of the firm’s planning and urban design group. In his two decades as an advocate for urban design and planning initiatives, he has fostered sustainable communities, transit-oriented and multiuse districts, and regenerated civic spaces in the U.S. and abroad.
Henderer, a senior vice president who works in RTKL’s Washington, DC office, has led the designs of many prominent projects, including the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center; the Richard Sheppard Arnold U.S. Courthouse in Little Rock, Arkansas; and the new headquarters for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency..
Thompson, a senior vice president who works in RTKL’s Baltimore office, has dedicated his career to large-scale, security intensive and technologically complex environments that serve the unique needs of the intelligence community, U.S. government, agencies, and the military. His work includes the post-9/11 reconstruction of the Pentagon and perimeter security for the U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court, House and Senate Office Buildings, and Library of Congress.
