German women’s fashion retailer Cecil has introduced its latest outpost in Oberhausen, Germany with a design conceived by Helsinki-based Studio Joanna Laajisto.
The inviting interior is dressed in natural oak and olive green tones, and anchored by greenery and a central communication desk. Changing rooms with special lighting functions and individual regulation technology emphasize the unique nature of the store. Ceramic, high-gloss glazed tiles line the walls in a strip-tile format for texture and an optical depth that conveys an earthy, rustic character.
“We took advantage of the creative freedom granted to us by the Craft series and used the strip-tile format in a linear arrangement, both vertically and horizontally. This made it possible to emphasize proportions and transform traditional values in contemporary shapes into a modern interpretation,” Laajisto explains.
