At a glance: Rockwell Group has partnered with Nobu for nearly three decades, helping to develop the brand’s design language, which draws on chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s approach to food, as well as his personal history and heritage. With the 250-room Nobu Hotel Barcelona (Rockwell Group is also behind the forthcoming Atlanta outpost), the firm captured the city’s rich architectural history via the limestone- and wood-clad double-height lobby that “creates a sense of porosity between outside and in,” says partner and studio leader Greg Keffer.
