At a glance: The original Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp was built in the 1990s, but after it flooded in April 2020, andBeyond decided it was time for a comprehensive upgrade and rebranding. The reimagined 10-room luxury tented camp will use the existing footprint of the original structure with an added dose of grandeur. The main guest areas, for instance, form a sweeping arc that follows the shape of the river, while a subdued color palette complements elements like lightweight steel frames, canvas, and locally sourced hardwood. Sustainability will also be top of mind, with the resort running on 80 percent renewable energy.
