Ashford Castle, one of Western Ireland’s most luxurious hotels, has been home to generations of well-to-do locals, each family adding more resplendent features to the County Mayo manse. Its first stone was laid in 1228 and the most recent addition, a bronze conservatory, was added just last year. Housed in this handsome structure, whose glass walls automatically tint when it’s too bright, is a new spa designed by Toni Tollman and architect Philippe Bonino.
