Earlier this week, Sonesta International Hotel Corporation announced the debut of two soft brands: Classico, A Sonesta Collection and MOD, A Sonesta Collection.
The brands will allow independent hotel owners to connect with Sonesta’s network, while maintaining the unique identity of their property.
In the upper-upscale segment, Classico hotels merge local authenticity with global appeal. Traditional high-touch service, refined interiors, and locally inspired dining options will characterize each property. The first Sonesta Classico brand property, which opened last month, is the 40-key Z Ocean Hotel in Miami’s South Beach neighborhood.
MOD, part of Sonesta’s upscale portfolio, will be distinguished by flexibility and boast eclectic interiors. The inaugural MOD property will be the forthcoming Hotel 11 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
“As we have strengthened Sonesta’s franchising capabilities over the past two years, we recognized the opportunity for additional growth through soft branding,” says Sonesta chief development officer Brian Quinn. “The launch of Classico and MOD continue Sonesta’s growth trajectory and we anticipate great success with continued expansion in the upper-upscale and upscale segments.”
