Hotel company Sonesta recently announced that it added 13 new properties to its global portfolio in the first half of 2023. Eleven of the hotels are located in the U.S., while the other two are in Egypt and Canada.
Among the new additions is the Sonesta Nouba Hotel Aswan, nestled in the historic Egyptian city along the banks of the Nile. Each of its 45 guestrooms embody the rich traditions of Nubian design and the hotel boasts a climate-controlled crocodile pond.
In the Canadian Rocky Mountains, the 155-room Hotel 11 by Sonesta in Calgary, Alberta features spacious, modern accommodations; a fully-equipped on-site business center; and an indoor heated pool and hot tub.
Over in the vibrant city of Miami, Sonesta has unveiled two properties: Z Ocean Hotel, Classico, a sophisticated 40-room boutique retreat, and Nautilus Sonesta Miami Beach, a 250-room hotel situated within a 1950s building designed by iconic architect Morris Lapidus.
Further additions to the Sonesta portfolio include Americas Best Value Inn outposts in Laurel, Maryland; Carlisle, Pennsylvania; and Lafayette, Louisiana. Four Red Lion locations in Gretna, Nebraska; Philadelphia; Liberty, Missouri; Central City, Colorado have also joined the family, and the Signature Inn Houston Galleria in Texas and the Sonesta Essential Vacaville in California round out the expanded roster.
“Our extensive hospitality experience gives us unique insight into owner and consumer demands and the ability to respond to emerging industry trends,” says Brian Quinn, Sonesta’s chief development officer. “As owners and operators ourselves, Sonesta has the expertise to open and run managed hotels such as the Nautilus Sonesta Miami Beach and to create a brand portfolio that is attractive to franchisees.”
