After Eden, conceived by founder and beverage director Gelo Honrade, has opened its doors on New York’s Lower East Side as an all-day concept.

By morning, the bright and open setting caters to casual meetings, daytime gatherings, and café-style programming. As the day progresses, the room gradually undergoes a sensory shift. The lighting deepens, allowing the bar to take focus, and the energy moves toward a more intimate late-night atmosphere.

Channeling the garden

The interior spaces present a restrained, modern interpretation of the Garden of Eden. Cofounder and designer Kim Lin, who was raised within New York’s hospitality industry, approached the project with a focus on longevity and cohesion.

A thoughtful mix of saturated green tones, layered textures, and a blend of vintage and modern elements work together to create a space that feels intimate and grounded.

Art and indulgence at After Eden

Anchoring the venue’s back bar is a striking custom mural by Eric Ramirez that depicts a lush, dreamlike landscape rendered in deep, saturated tones, offering a darker interpretation of Eden that leans into the idea of its “other side.” This piece visually reinforces the overarching themes of temptation and indulgence that define the evening experience.

Additionally, the space features the Opium Den, a private room that offers a secluded setting for smaller gatherings and late-night moments.
