Inside Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City lies Bambara, a recently renovated restaurant nestled inside a former bank’s teller room.
Los Angeles-based studio Beleco and Design One Architects worked together to preserve the architectural details and materials of the original space.
An edited color palette complements Bambara’s menu, while local artwork and a statement chandelier bring the dining room to life. Navy upholstered chairs mingle with brown leather banquette seating as well.
Connected to Bambara is the Vault Bar, which was reimagined with a new identity. In a town where rooftop views abound, the Vault hones in on a more intimate experience.
The Vault also serves as the hotel’s lobby bar. According to Utah liquor laws, a space that serves alcohol needs to be a separate room. So, im order to connect the bar and hotel, a wall behind back bar shelving was left open to allow the lively sounds of the bar to invite lobby guests inside.
