Chez Fifi, an elevated French bistro housed in an Upper East Side townhouse in Manhattan, marks Swedish interior design firm JOYN Studio‘s first U.S. project.
The concept is the latest from Joshua and David Foulquier, the brothers behind the acclaimed Sushi Noz. Drawing on their French heritage, they envisioned a refined yet inviting space that pays homage to their mother, Fifi.
A vintage European experience at Chez Fifi
Inspired by 1930s Paris, Chez Fifi’s interiors channel early-20th-century Europe with an intimate, layered aesthetic.
The main dining room features rich mahogany paneling, deep blue hues, and plush banquettes, yielding an atmosphere of understated elegance.
A private dining room offers an exclusive setting, while the second-floor salon—complete with a fireplace, vintage chandelier, and an eclectic mix of furnishings—evokes the warmth of a Parisian living room.
“Working with JOYN Studio allowed us to create something deeply meaningful and unique,” says Foulquier. “They didn’t just design a space; they created an experience. Chez Fifi captures the warmth of a Parisian bistro, enriched by JOYN’s attention to detail and Scandinavian aesthetic.”
