Grammy- and Oscar-winning musician Jon Batiste (who will perform the national anthem at Super Bowl LIX this Sunday) has debuted a jazz club at Baha Mar, a luxury resort in the Bahamas.
Inside Jon Batiste’s jazz experience
Designed by Gensler, the club draws inspiration from the Bahamas’ rich musical history where African, European, and Caribbean sounds converge.
The concept also nods to the golden age of Bahamian nightlife, honoring legendary venues like the Cat and Fiddle, the Silver Slipper, the Banana Boat, and the Buena Vista Club—each lending its name to the VIP rooms, where memorabilia from the heyday of each venue is showcased.
At the entrance, a striking 11-foot LED screen sets the tone for an immersive experience. The sprawling 12,900-square-foot space is layered with rich stone, decorative metalwork, and flowing drapery that complement Baha Mar’s extensive art collection.
“Music has always been my way of bridging worlds, and I’m beyond excited to debut my first jazz club here at Baha Mar,” says Batiste. “I love that this space will pay tribute to the Caribbean’s storied musical heritage, while inviting a whole new generation to discover jazz. It’s a dream realized, and I can’t wait to share it with the world.”
Programming at Jon Batiste’s Jazz Club also pays homage to the Bahamas’ legacy as a global musical and cultural hub through a lineup of Batiste’s favorite local artists as well as world-renowned international artists.
