Baha Mar—a luxury vacation destination in Nassau, Bahamas—is adding a fourth high-end resort as part of its ongoing expansion.
Designed by Foster + Partners, the new addition will span 12 acres along Cable Beach and include approximately 350 guestrooms and 50 branded residences.
Among the resort’s onsite culinary offerings will be an rooftop omakase experience and a beachfront restaurant helmed by a yet-to-be-disclosed celebrity chef.
Additional amenities will include a 14,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, luxury boutiques, expansive pool areas, an outdoor bar, entertainment lounges, and family-friendly spaces.
The resort will also host 25,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, comprising a 10,000-square-foot ballroom, a 6,000-square-foot junior ballroom, pre-function areas, breakout rooms, a boardroom, and open-air venues.
“Our proposal takes cues from the traditional vernacular of the Bahamas, its rich heritage and distinctive materiality to create a resort that is truly unique,” says Kirsten Scott, design director of Foster + Partners. “From the very first moment of arrival, visitors are surrounded by nature and connected to water throughout. Moments of solitude and calm are spread throughout the site, making it an exclusive and sought-after destination for every visitor.”
Guests will have full access to Baha Mar’s amenities, including the $200 million Baha Bay waterpark.
The new development will occupy the site of the former Melia Nassau Beach, demolished after its closure in 2021. Baha Mar also includes Rosewood Baha Mar, SLS Baha Mar, and Grand Hyatt Baha Mar.
The resort is scheduled for groundbreaking in 2026 and expected open in 2029.
